Prayer Needs: February 24, 2008 > Week of 2/25/08
From the Desk of Jill Keenon, Operations Director:
Thank you to so many of you who responded to my heart last week as I revealed some of my feeling lost and without faith last week. Your prayers and advice were used by God and me. My heart is renewed as God brought sweetness back to my soul this weekend. One of the resources God lead me to was Psalm 86. Please read the passages slowly and think about who God truly is. If we look over our lives we can see God's hand in it all as well as his provision. It is satan's constant goal to keep us from remembering all that has been given to us and all the answered prayer. His hope is to get us to think Jesus no longer cares. He wants us to think we have worn out our welcome and God has moved on to someone He cares about more. God's individual pursuit of us began before we even knew we needed him years ago and He still pursues us today in order to have a warm and loving relationship with us. His loving-kindness to us is great and unfathomable. That is what faith is: knowing He loves us no matter the circumstance or the feelings at the moment but that we have a history with Him and He "never leaves us or forsakes us." He never walks away but we do! COLOMA PLACE: - Will be sold on Friday. Pray for the closing to go as planned and all parties to be in sync.
QUICK HOME: - We need serious prayer for the baby's hedge of protection. There is a new judge who seems to come to the bench with a decision already made in spite of what he hears from all parties. Pray that the truth about what is going on is clear to the judge. We only want what is the right thing for the child so whether she stays with Will and Allison or goes home needs to be based on the truth. The judge is missing that there is still drug issues and domestic violence problems in the baby's family that are being covered up. Pray for truth to become clear.
- John is starting to see that the foster mom who was saying she wanted to adopt him is not calling and seems to be out of the picture. This is a hard truth because that means he has no one outside of the foster care system. Pray that he will feel comfortable enough with Allison and Will to reveal himself and his hurt to them.
- Bob is charming and a most chronic liar. Pray for him to learn honesty and know the truth of Jesus before a possibility of returning home comes up.
- Pat has increased time with mom but we still have the problem of her not doing one thing to change her interaction with him.
KEENON HOME: - Margie's heart is tender toward the Lord. In spite of all her problems with relationships she always seems to be right on with her relationship with Jesus. Please continue though to pray for her to find a friend who has the same values and can encourage her.
- Please pray against spiritual forces that hold Melissa in bondage. Pray for us to be able to discern her true heart and balance that against the manipulation she has always used to cope.
- Matt is still trying to get into the Military. It is his hearts desire and he keeps getting blocked because of his probation. Pray for him to have patience and for God's will. We see no reason that it would not be a good thing for him but God's timing is what matters.
- Jill has eleven weeks left of school as well as Hillary's wedding. Please pray for both of these things to bring God glory and for us to finish well.
- Paul is planning the Bowl-A-Thon. It is April 19. Pray God provides many bowler-fund raisers.
- Also, Paul is feeling a little depressed because he will not be going on Project Serve this year due to previous responsibilities with his Rotary Club (which he will be the President of by then) and some personal problems that he is working through.
- I, Paul, want to praise God for the openness of the teens I am working with and seeing several of them maturing. Their interest in proper behavior and realizing they represent Jesus to their friends has been blossoming.
As always we pray for you all each time we ask you to pray for us. We can't do this without each other. Thanks, as always...
