From the Desk of Jill Keenon, Operations Director:
In the book of Jeremiah it says, "Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast in his riches; but let him who boasts boasts of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises loving kindness, justice, and righteousness on the earth; for I delight in these things" declares the Lord. Like we mentioned last week about needing to get back to basics of letting the Lord run our home and lives this week is the same idea.
My, (Jill), mouth just seems to run all day long. It is like the Lord waited for this time in my life to reveal what is really in my heart. If you don't want to hear what I think look out or avoid me. I am shocked at the things I say when I think I am only pondering them in my head.
We have always boasted in our ability to see things straight and help people see things clearly, but never have I felt so frustrated with people that I would give them "what for." God wants all of us to be full of lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness, not just saying things that come to our head and making people fell unloved or uncared for. Paul seems to be ahead of me on this. He has learned the hard way too but now he has to put up with me going through it. We all need to be straight like Jesus, but kind, although kindness should not override truth. You can't just be kind to avoid a disagreement but truth always needs to be spoken in love. You are all thinking I am glad she is the one with the problem, but even you quieter folks have the thoughts I do, so don't be too self-righteous. Let us all strive to have the mouth of Christ.
COLOMA PLACE
We are going to continue have the home up for sale but we have signed a new contract with the realtor so it will come up as new again. Pray for more hits.
QUICKS HOME
Pray for John and Bob's relationship to be less competitive and let them both grow in the new home setting.
The Quicks want Pat to be able to move to the extra room so he does not have to share with the younger boys. We need the Fire Marshall to approve of the room that was built in the basement. Pray for that to go smoothly.
Pray for the baby.
KEENON HOME
Melissa's family was here for her birthday. This in itself is a miracle but one of the times I can't seem to keep my mouth shut is with them. Their relationships are pretty toxic and none seem to be able to see the other person's point of view. Pray for healing of this family.
They obviously love each other and there are steps moving forward. We are going to more new doctors for her seizures and for her abusive memories, so pray for her healing. Her meds have been adjusted and she will continue with weekly ECT treatments for a while longer.
Matt was told he could not go home yet by probation. He has to stay at least another four months. Pray for him to get his roots deeper. He is working hard. The burden for the final decision was directed to Paul by Probation and this put him in a difficult place. Matt has expressed his appreciation for us not just doing the easy things with him and confronting him on things he needs to consider and change.
Margie is going to be increasing her medicine hopefully to help with some of her manic-like thoughts. Pray for all of us to know if it is the right thing after she starts the new medication.
I, Jill, go back to school in a week. Please pray for Paul and me to be organized so that we both can finish strong. I could not have done this without him doing so much at home.
Christmas break was a good time for Paul to connect with teens home from college, as well as high school teens. He had some very open and frank accountability times with good results.
Thanks, we pray for all of you to be blessed this New Year and for you to know Him better.
