Prayer Needs: September 30, 2007 > Week of 10/1/07

From the Desk of Jill Keenon, Operations Director:

For thirty years today, Paul has had to put up with me. The Lord gave us a blessing today because after everyone left for school we said we did not want to do anything and slept for another two hours. Then my school got cancelled so we got to go to lunch and a movie. On the way home I laughed.

The reason was because I wondered if there was anything we should be philosophizing about or saying some wonderful thing to each other, but all I could come up with was, "Good job!" Then we gave each other a high-five. It was so funny. I think this whole marriage thing might actually work for us.

COLOMA PLACE HOME:
  • The Dyers are moved out and the work to repair and clean up has begun. That is an answer to prayer. Now we continue to pray for a buyer for the home on Oct 13 or 14 at the open house. Pray for a family to come in that will help the neighborhood.
  • Pray for the Dyers and their family.
  • Pray for all the little details to be worked out in getting it ready.
QUICK’S BOYS HOME:
  • Continue to pray for the baby and Will and Allison
  • Pray for Pat as the first year of high school starts to unfold and routine is settling in. Pray for him and the situation with his mother.
  • A request has come in for the Quicks to foster a ten year old boy. We will most likely have him in the home soon. He is coming from a home with "two moms", if you get my drift. They would have kept him, but they are moving to Wisconsin. Pray for the this decision.
KEENON HOME:
  • When we went to the Coloma Place home yesterday to see if the Dyers were gone, it was very hard on Paul. Selling the home we worked so hard for and used to help so many teens with, feels like a failure to him and he hates to see the home not being used for something for the Lord. Pray for him to have peace about it and even if we can’t see it now, we will see the Lord use even this for good.
  • Melissa is going to the doctor tomorrow to about getting a VNS device implanted to relieve her depression. She has been extra-depressed and we need prayer for her protection until this can come about. Pray for Jesus to touch her and heal her in all areas.
  • Matt is stressed and needs prayer to stay on the straight and narrow. He is having some trouble with feeling overwhelmed lately.
  • Joel started his new job and it seems to be right up his alley. Pray for him to stay strong with the Lord.
  • Margie is talking to a new boy in Indiana she met through a friend. Pray for her to know right from wrong and have wisdom. Every week we are so proud of her. Pray for her to go the next step and learn with a new friendship.
There was more happening this week but it would take too much time. So, I will fill you in next week. Please just pray a general prayer for other families we work with, and God will know who you are talking about. Thank you so much.
