Prayer Needs: August 26, 2007 > Week of 8/27/07

From the Desk of Jill Keenon, Operations Director:

Psalm119:57-58 says: "Lord you are mine! I promise to obey your words! With all my heart I want your blessings. Be merciful just as you promised."
I long to be obedient, to receive His blessings and to know His grace and mercy better. At our board meeting we came up with a plan for the homes. I will spare you the details but we are going to sell the Coloma Place home, and we have plans for the retooling. This is exciting to see the Lord lead.
We are working with teens, through mentoring and giving counsel to parents and teens in trouble. We will have teens in the boys home, and young adults in our home who are teens in their maturity. We hope to do parenting seminars at churches and expand our one on one ministry with parents (Families Helping Families). We are very excited about the whole thing. We had a really fun board meeting. You could feel new things coming. God is good and faithful. Your prayers and faithful counsel from those in this field have brought more clarity of direction to our board.
COLOMA PLACE HOME:
  1. Pray we get it cleaned up and ready to sell as soon as the Dyers move.
  2. Pray for a buyer for the home and a smooth transition.
QUICKS BOYS HOME:
  1. Pat started high school and said he was scared to death the first day but is doing okay now. He is a strong boy but feels like a little boy and worries about bullies. Pray for him to get the hang of school and to make some friends who will be good for him.
  2. Pray for Allison and Will as she goes back to work as a Special Ed Therapist, and the situation with having a baby this year to take care of at the same time. They are doing a great job with the baby and its great to see her grow and thrive. She is a very happy baby.
KEENON HOME:
  1. Margie wants to try and go to school again. Pray for us to figure out the special help she needs to accomplish this goal.
  2. Matt needs pray for being overwhelmed. Between school, our rules, probation, new job and wanting to meet the Army requirements he feels overwhelmed. Pray he can trust the Lord and keep going one day at a time.
  3. Melissa is struggling with her mom right now. They are both hurting and don't know how to communicate without hurting each other. Pray for healing.
  4. Joel needs pray as he waits for a new job and to get his school schedule fixed.
  5. Pray for Jill and Paul with the new schedule and school. I love it again.
