From the Desk of Jill Keenon, Operations Director:
This Saturday, Paul and I went to the horse races (no judging please). We went with our daughter and her family and it was a really nice time. But an obvious thought process I had was about running the race of life with Christ. He says to run with endurance and to keep at it. A few of my kids run marathons and they have to train all the time for the race.
Some days I hear them say they don't want to do their practice run and other days they really enjoy it. Today, for me is one of those days. "I don't want to run the race. I am tired, angry and frustrated." I just was mean to Melissa because of her constant whining about everything. I know I need to be the example and kind and blah, blah, blah but right now I feel like she has no idea what real life is and that could help a lot of her problems.
I know I will be sorry in about a half hour but right now it is my time to feel sorry for myself. Is it okay to not be up? How do you be angry and sin not? (I think I just sinned with my words with her). I believe with all my being that God is bigger than my problems and in control, but today would be a good day for some encouragement. Last week we did have some encouragement monetarily. Thanks to some generous people we were able to pay some of our bills. That was great! I see the strain on Paul and he does not talk much when he has concerns. We need prayer for endurance, wisdom and a solution to our situation.
- One month until the Dyers move out. Pray them and for the use of this home.
- The Quicks are still on vacation with the two children. Pray for them.
- Matt
thinks he has a new job but there was a communication problem. Pray for it to resolve. This would be a good fit for him. (Update, he got a job at Tyndale.) - Melissa
is trying to eat but I have trouble not expecting her to fight me on it. Therefore, I react with distrust and I could wreck the whole thing. I told her I will no longer talk to her about her illnesses until she tries the solutions we have all given her, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I will talk to her about everything else. Pray for her to move forward. - Margie
just needs prayer for her to continuing to learn to process better. She has improved so much these last two years. It is amazing. - Pray about our money situation and for us to know and be willing to do what God says. We and Open Door are in trouble.
- Pray for the families we are working with. One wife is really being unreasonable and needs to back off the anger at everyone in the family.
Thanks for listening and praying,
In Christ's Service for the Community,
