Prayer Needs: July 22, 2007 > Week of 7/23/07

From the Desk of Jill Keenon, Operations Director:

It doesn't benefit anyone if you learn something but don't put it into practice. This week has been one of practice. Last week, we talked about learning to be thankful for all situations, circumstances, personal failures and anything else that comes into our lives. God allows or directly brings it all to us. With that in mind, we need to be rest assured that He will make good out of it.

Therefore, all week Paul and I have been trying to practice letting go and being thankful for all of the above. The day starts with being thankful to have another day to be alive. Then as things come up in the day we thank God for the good or the bad. We made a list; several legal size pages long, of things which we have concern about or caused ourselves or whatever and thanked the Lord for them. Every person we have in our family, other relationships who touch us, problems we have personally, Open Door issues, and much more were on the list and given thanks for to the Lord. I know we missed much but it was a start.

Paul and I process differently and I don't know how he is feeling but I personally have had a week of peace. I never took piano lessons, was never in a sport, or any other type of activity that took planned practice in my whole life but I am determined to practice thankfulness for the rest of my life. Even if I have read some books every summer to remind me of what God's word says about it. Every single time I have practiced this; my life has been so much sweeter and peaceful. But every single time, I get caught up in the day-to-day activities of life and soon forget all about it and go back to living in my own strength. Only realizing our weakness can we be strong. Practice being thankful this week with us.

COLOMA PLACE HOME
1.  Pray for Ravi and Ester to find a place to live with their family.
2.  There is a possibility for Sue to have a room to rent in a home. Pray for guidance for all involved.

QUICK HOME
3.  This week has crucial court dates for both children in the home. Pray for God's hand on the both situations and for Allison and Will to have the right words to say and feel God's peace as they go through court and doctor visits this week.

KEENON HOME
4.  We have a serious situation with Open Door financially.
There is a good chance that we will not be able to make payroll on the 1st  of August.  The last money in our reserves will be withdrawn this week from our investment account. A lot of things are in play to make our pay a reality but we need prayer for God to intervene and provide a solution. We are thanking God for this situation and know it is in His hands but we are also doing our part to see if there is anything else we can do. This is our biggest concern right now and need God's direction.
5.  It looks like we might get a car. Someone at church offered one to us on Sunday. We just have to go pick it up and see if it still works because it has been sitting for quite sometime.
6.  Melissa, Margie, Joel and Matt need prayer this week with all of their on going needs.

Thanks for listening and praying,
