Prayer Needs: June 10, 2007 > Week of 6/11/07

From the Desk of Jill Keenon, Operations Director:

We are back for a few days and soon we are going on Project Serve for two weeks then home for the rest of the summer. We had the most refreshing and spiritually renewing vacation I think we ever had. Four days after we got home I felt weak and overwhelmed again. The reason for the refreshment was daily prayer and time in God's word and accountability to each other (Paul & Jill).
When we get home it did not take long to do things in our own strength. Once I saw what was happening I tried to regroup. Paul has been able to stay a little more focused. Once we realize God does not need any of us but, chooses to use us, the burden bearing becomes bearable. It is then His doing, not ours. Then some real work and healing can get done. In Mark 5 it talks about the demon-possessed man and also a woman who had been hemorrhaging for years. Then one day they have an encounter with Jesus, and they were healed, one by choice, the other because Jesus just did it. But the suffering stopped. The woman had exhausted every avenue and still got no where until Jesus entered in. This needs to be a lesson to us to keep enduring until we can get the demon possessed or trouble ones to Jesus and for us once we exhausted all hope to come to the one who is the hope. No matter the problem, Jesus is the only answer.

COLOMA PLACE HOME
The Dyers and Open Door have decided to go our separate ways and not try and do the ministry together. We tried it for eight months; we feel each ministry would do better not trying to combine synergies. We have enjoyed them, and they have a good ministry. They are going on a 45 day ministry trip to India and then will have 45 days to find a new home. They will be out by September 15.

Sue has been asked to leave by August 1st. She needs prayer to find suitable and affordable housing.

QUICK BOYS HOME
  • Pat is still at the home and needs prayer.
  • Please pray for the Quicks and the children in their home. We do not want to be specific because of confidentiality issues but prayer is sorely needed. They are doing well but the issues surrounding the children's lives need God's hand.
KEENON HOME
  • Melissa survived our vacation thanks to Allison and Will Quick. She is having more grand mal seizures and is under the doctor's care. We need prayer. She thinks about spiritual things all the time but is fearful to take the plunge to accept the Lord. Pray against whatever is blocking her. The reality is because of what she has done to her body she may always have trouble. The epilepsy is NOT her fault but the eating disorder and abuse to her body make things worse. She is trying much, much harder now, and we need to encourage her movements forward. Pray for her to get the touch of Jesus healing.
  • Joel appears to be having a nice summer. Pray for him to grow in all areas. He is so pleasant to have around.
  • A new young man has moved in with us for a few months. He has made some mistakes in his life and is now working hard to be on track with the Lord, school, his family and decisions. Pray for him to trust the Lord for the strength to do all these things.
  • Margie is doing well. Pray for her to get a second job. It looks like the "zapping" is helping her processing. Pray it continues to work and for some healing of her emotions. We had a good cleansing talk before I went on vacation and I would like to pursue that avenue with her.
  • Carmen has been asked to leave our home by July 31, only because it is time, not because she or we have a problem. But her daughter Lili is in the hospital with colitis and is in severe pain. They are having trouble finding out what to do. Carmen has had to sleep at the hospital since Tuesday night and is getting exhausted herself because Lili is in so much pain and wakes up screaming. Pray for healing and endurance.
  • Please pray for Project Serve safety and the ability to minister in Alabama.

Missed talking to you.
