Prayer Needs: April 29, 2007 > Week of 4/23/07
From the Desk of Jill Keenon, Operations Director:
Again you are stuck with me (Paul). Jill is pushing the books. A final is tomorrow so she is still at the library at COD (8:30 PM). She reminds me of a calling we have in our faith. She perseveres! The days are long when you have a family, but with another two people moving in, bringing the number up to twelve, Jill's days are more than full. Add to that those that live with us all issues of one type or another and that she is in the last days of her school year. Twelve hour days for study! Me and the kids to worry about and still she perseveres. Along with PERSERVERANCE goes PRAYER (Ephesians 6:18). Without prayer we lose strength and fail. We cannot do it on our own. We have many friends that pray for us. Do you? Find people who will pray for you regularly. We are greedy about prayer. But there is more than enough to go around for everyone. God wants us to pray and be prayed for. Let us do this mutually. Pray for each other. It is our unity, our strength in God. We can PERSEVERE WITH HIM on our side. But not alone! Please pray for Jill, Hilly, and Joel as they finish the year of projects and tests. We can not get a good grade by just praying for one but we can pray for the stamina and recall. Coloma Place Home Pray that all, Esther, Ravi, Rosey, Dan, Roshnie and Sue, living in this home can PERSEVERE. It is a challenge some times. Life with those that are not from our family always presents special challenges. Life after divorce is even more challenging and then throw in the cultures that don't normally pull together. Quicks Home is doing well and only wakes up about twice a night to eat. Her biological mother was doing drugs while pregnant. Tomorrow officials come to see how Hanna is doing. Her bio mother has a couple of other children also not in her custody but she will visit her daughter for the first time this week. The baby will be almost three weeks old by the time she gets to hold her. Please pray for the Quicks and the mother, it will be a tough and emotional time. Keenon Home - We are worried Melissa is in grave danger.
She is having three or four seizures a week. She can still walk, run, take care of her animals and generally function. She can not drive as a result of the seizures and is in the care of a Neuro-therapist. Many psychiatrists have turned down her case because she is a liability to them. McKenzie and boyfriend Eric will be staying with us for two weeks while waiting for a new apartment. They have moved all there belongings into our garage. Please pray they can make the new jobs they started last week and the new apartment work. Neither of them have a drivers license. Hopefully with jobs they will be able to pay out standing fines and get everything straightened out. Thank you friends who worked at our homes during CareFest! You repaired light switches, painted rooms and exterior fascia, cut down a tree, removed several stumps, spread over one hundred bags of mulch and planted grass. Some folks repaired window dormers, cleaned gutters and many other maintenance projects. This will free us up to either minister to someone else or to take a break and rejuvenate. Thank you for all you did. Thank you for prayers -
