From the Desk of Jill Keenon, Operations Director:
The Body of Christ is amazing! I did not know how much I needed encouragement but the Lord knew. On Sunday at least five people came up to me and told me they cared about us and were praying. They shared things in their own lives that helped me and I was just amazed at the uplifting feeling I had when I left church today.
I told some of them that they are a part of the ministry because all the prayers are what sustain us. We know it is impossible to do what needs to be done without prayer. That is why we are so thankful for all of you. That is not said lightly. Prayer is the backbone of this endeavor. Without Jesus right in the middle it is all futile.
- Last week we mentioned we might talk to Pat's mom but it may be a conflict with DCFS so we will not be talking to her. Pray for someone to be able to help the mom see she needs to take responsibility to help Pat get home.
- We need to make some decisions about the Coloma Place home again. Please pray for us to have wisdom. Paul and I have some exciting ideas that have risen as of late and need to explore them further. The ideas for apply to this home.
- Melissa is going to start neurofeedback this week. Pray for her to cooperate. She was very nice for about three days then started the old behavior again. I find this quite upsetting. My reaction seems to be bringing up some stuff in me that I dont like. I need prayer to discern why I am having such a strong reaction. I dont seem to be able to stay as partial with her as with other things. My stomach gets upset and I have a strong response to the whole thing. She is also, going to be assessed to start a program for depression and anxiety this week. Pray for the Lord's guidance. It is with a Christian group. It would be good to get the spiritual component in the program.
- Barbie's brother came from Texas to get some things in place for her when she gets out of the hospital. She is happier but is still talking about the Taliban and delusions. Pray for her, put her in the Lord's hands.
- Margie is very lonely for companionship, so she seeks out anyone who will pay attention to her. She has a man talking to her now on the phone who says he is a Christian but the last man who told her that was a Muslim and lied just to get her to date him. Pray for her to find companionship that is healthy and safe. Pray we will be able to discern about this guy.
- Carmen needs prayer.
- Pray for Paul and me as a team to stay strong and close to Jesus.
- Pray for my last ten days of this quarter. I have one big final coming up next Monday.
- I would love prayer for me to be able to resolve some long term issues that I am starting to get some insight into but not complete clarity yet.
Enjoy the days as they get longer and anticipate spring and new beginnings.
