Prayer Needs: February 25, 2007 > Week of 2/26/07
From the Desk of Jill Keenon, Operations Director:
I had a great weekend with two of my daughters and some good friends at the womans retreat, refreshing and just plain fun. On the other hand, Paul had his hands full at home. It is too complicated to explain it all but it actually was funny when he said he is the Statue of Liberty, "Bring your tired and your weary" to the shores of the Keenon home." I was grateful he let me go but I have been the one at home before when he is gone on trips and it is hard without a partner to regroup with at the end of the day. Our job is definitely a two person job. I am thankful we have each other. We are considering working with Pats ( from the Quick home) mom to see if we can get her to start doing what she needs to do to raise him and fulfill what DCFS requires for her to regain custody of Pat. There seems to be a stand still in the progress to get him home. Pray if that is a good idea and for it to come about if it is. - The Bowl-a-thon is coming up in April please pray for a successful outcome.
- Melissa is coming home tomorrow. She is no better other than she has been eating while she is in there. They are saying she is very manipulative and mentally ill. We need to balance compassion and boundaries with her. This was her last chance. Her parents are out of money (they have literally spent hundreds of thousands on her care over the years) and the next step is a state hospital. Please pray.
- Margie is doing well. Keep praying.
- Barbie is still in the mental ward at a hospital. This was a lot of what Paul had to handle this past weekend. Her husband, brother and us are working together to get her the help she needs. Pray for her, she has a very sweet spirit but the disease has wiped a lot of that out.
- I have two weeks of school left for this section. Please pray I can get my work done and done well. It is getting harder to stick to the work with all the "Families Helping Families" counseling and the girls.
- Carmen is on new medicine and it is helping her anxiety. Pray for us and her as we interact. Pray for her to have the healing she needs.
- Having two more young children, our daughter Carmens who lives with us, in our home has really wiped out our normal tranquility in lieu of constant motion and toys to step on in the dark.
