Prayer Needs: January 07, 2007 > Week of 1/8/07

From the Desk of Jill Keenon, Operations Director:

This morning at breakfast, I looked at Paul and said I was feeling sad about some things with our children. He agreed that he did too. Then I said that most days I wonder how we ended up with this job of raising all these kids and that I feel ill-equipped. I said, "When you think about it we are both kind of losers." We laughed so hard because it’s true!

I did not have a clue about what I would do in life, and Paul barely made it out of high school. What we hold onto is that God says in our weakness He is strong. We don’t know how it works but it does or we would have given up a long time ago. Just looking at us should give people hope that God is good, and He can use anyone. I have said this before but I simply do not know how people live without Jesus.

COLOMA PLACE
  1. We met with the Dyers last week and were quite surprised at what they had to say. There have been some important boundaries issues going on with the lady in the home. Ester talked with her about it but was brushed off as if it was a cultural thing. So, tonight we are all getting together and discussing the problem. Pray for a solution and that Satan will not be allowed to mess up what could be a very good thing.
QUICKS BOYS HOME
  1. Pat is starting to catch on about some things and is doing fine. He seems comfortable with living with the Quicks and being able to see his mom once a week. The mom needs to see that she has some work to do before he can come home. She treats him like he is very young still. Also, for all the months he has been with Allison and Will he has not had a health problem, no food allergies or breathing problem. This would need to be addressed before he could even go for an unsupervised visit.
KEENON HOME
  1. Our daughter, Carmen, and Kane and Lilli moved in last night. This should be a good thing. This plan is for them to stay until school is out in the spring. Kane and Keano are best friends so they are very happy. Pray for them to get healthy and have some healing during this time.
  2. Margie is turning 21 this week. She has come a long way, we are proud of her. She has driven with me on Saturday and is doing just fine. I was not scared at all. She should start her neurofeedback therapy this week. Pray for it to work.
  3. Melissa is being a little more responsive to me (Jill) again but still she needs a miracle. That is all I want you to pray for because I don’t know what she needs.
  4. Please pray that I can organize myself in the next week, so I can have a calmer household when I go back to school.
  5. Pray for Paul as he tries to get his thoughts together for the ODFT Board about the future plans for our team and houses. He wants to follow what the Lord wants and needs to be clear and succinct. He has a plan, but is having trouble finding the time and thoughts to put it in words
Thanks for caring.
