I am reading my favorite charismatic book on prayer again. Every time I read it I get something else cool out of it. Two things have come to my mind this time from reading it.
One is that we live what we believe. For instance, if we pray for God to do something and then go call or talk to someone and say, "I just don't know what I am going to do about such and such." Then that means the prayer did not really mean much. It was just a religious practice. If we give it to God start saying what you believe about what God is doing.
Secondly, I learned that by focusing on the problem and telling God the problem over and over again is a lack of faith. He knows the problem ,and we need to "pray the answer." If we are abiding in Him, then our heart will be in line with Him, if not, let Him show us otherwise. We only want His will anyway. Praying His Word and what He has promised us gives us faith by hearing the Word spoken. That is my new focus.
BOYS HOME
- The Quicks just got back from Pennsylvania and they need prayer to read adjust back to their real world. They miss their family and sometimes it is hard to come back.
- Pray for Pat as he gets back into his routine at school and home. Pray for him and his mom as they see each other after a long time apart. Pray for healing in this situation.
COLOMA PLACE HOME
Pray for Sue as she continues to all the adjustments at the home. Pray for healing of her soul and emotions. Pray for the Dyer family as they make decisions about what they are going to be doing for the ministry at Coloma Pl. as well as the personal ministry they are involved in. Pray for the woman God brings to the home. KEENON HOME
now has the whole basement for her and her animals. She likes it. I think it is very important that we quit looking at her as hopeless as far as changing goes. I have really been focusing on the problems and not God's solution. No one is at our home without God's hand on them. From now on let us pray for a miracle to happen in her life. Pray for God to touch her as well as her friends who have a negative influence on her towards the Lord. Pray for all of them to come to know God in the true sense and for them to see him a Father who is safe and a God of comfort. Please pray seriously about it and let us believe God for this answer. Margie asked for me to put in a prayer request for her to be able to lose the rest of the weight she needs to lose. Pray for her to have self control and a desire to exercise. She was athletic and would like to get back at it. I finally forgave Bonnie in regards to the lies she told about us. Pray for her and her baby. Pray that the agency that Bonnie was with will release the money they are holding because of her lies that is due us. The need for this money has become acute. Pray for Hillary, Joel and Jill to finish the semester out well. Enjoy life for God is good.
