Prayer Needs: October 15, 2006 > Week of 10/16/06

From the Desk of Paul Keenon, Executive Director:

I am going to study for a test and we still need prayer, but no wonderful thoughts today. (Jill)

The wonderful thought for the day is that I am proud of my wife. I cannot think of someone who loves and works harder for anyone. I know you will disagree with me men, because you think that your wife is the hardest working, most loving person God created, but you’re wrong! Jill is! Do I need to brag? No! Your read every week what her thoughts are. You hear in her writing her concern for others, her love of strangers and the hurting. You read how she struggles to manage her studies, her children, grandchildren, and foster children, families moving in and out and in and out forever.

She counsels others with the care and empathy of one who shares the hurts and needs counsel herself from time to time. She mentors other women and gets mentored. She is my example of a woman struggling to provide for family, friends, and strangers for the love of God. Her pride for her family is a glow that she radiates and is an honor to her and a wonderful fragrance to God.

She worries about money, short comings of her children, and her husband's health. She is my example of a godly woman because she always ending up giving the worries to God to deal with. She shows her love by respecting me and her continued care and respect of her children no matter how messed up they are or no matter what they do. Wonderful is only the word I thought of when I started telling you about her. Godly is the word that I will finish with. (Paul)

QUICK HOME

  • Court was last week and the judge said Pat is to stay. We are starting to get a glimpse into what some of the problems may be but we still need prayer for wisdom for Pat and his family and for Will and Allison.

COLOMA PLACE HOME

  • The Dyers are moving in today. Then in November it looks like the woman we have been talking about from Wheaton Bible will be moving in. Pray for the transitions to all go well and for God’s hand on it all.

  • Pray for Paul has he works on some of the legal changes that need to be in place for this home.

  • Pray for our daughter, Carmen as she moves out and is trying to get help.

KEENON HOME

  • We moved Melissa downstairs for more room for her animals. We hope this will settle her for a while longer before she moves out. Pray for her salvation.

  • Pray for Margie as takes her driving permit test on Thursday. This is a big step for her. She also is going on a mission’s trip next week to New Orleans and she is anxious and excited. Pray for her to trust the Lord for all of it.

  • Paul is still sick. Pray for him to heal. He will probably go back to the doctor this week.

  • Money is tight again and I am having trouble trusting the Lord. When things go wrong I always feel like I am guilty somehow. Pray for my unbelief. God has never let us down before.

Pray for the Board as they consider four out of six remaining options for ministry in the Coloma Place Home and other places. The Dyers will share the home with woman that we together deem to need help until such time as we as a board decide the permanent use of the home.

The Dyer’s ministry is called “Gathering the Living Stones”. Their burden is for lost Indian immigrants and others from mid-eastern countries like Iran, Afghanistan and Iraq. How exciting to be helping them get their ministry off the ground!
