Prayer Needs: September 10, 2006 > Week of 9/11/06

From the Desk of Jill Keenon, Operations Director:

As we go about our lives and we are involved in the day to day happenings, let us not forget to pray for our loved ones and those who the Lord has in our lives. Five years ago we could not have imaged what was about to happen to our country. We never know what will happen in our lives and in the lives of those in our little world.

Communion with the Lord for ourselves and others in the only true protection from real threats. Satan would love to get us down when something comes along and he can mock us by saying our Lord is not there for us.

That liar is in for a big surprise when he comes up against Christ-followers who actually pray and are prayed up when something comes our way. So, the strong answer to everything is PRAY, PRAY, PRAY. Praise is a part of prayer, too. We need to have a relationship with our heavenly father that is so close we are praising, enjoying, asking, and just being with him. It needs to be our natural response to tell the Lord what is going on all day long and to have a deep sense that he cares and is always there.

QUICK HOME
  • Allison and Will received into their home a delightful thirteen year old boy. He was put there because DCFS suspects his mom of making him sick for her own emotional reasons. She is a strong believer and we don’t know what is true yet. Please give us all wisdom to see the truth. He only seems to be sick with his mom. He is a very nice boy and it appears the mom is doing a good job with him.
COLOMA PLACE HOME
  • Things are being put in place for some changes.
  • Pray for God's hand to be on this home.
KEENON HOME
  • Bonnie is pretty cool towards us but is here. Pray for reconciliation and healing. We are fine but are sad that this is even going on.
  • Pray for Margie to be able to lose some weight and feel better about her body. She joined a gym and gets up early to go before work. She is frustrated with the extra weight and her meds make it hard to get the weight off.
  • Melissa
  • has had one treatment this week and talked to her doctor about what she is willing to do. Her mom is coming on Friday so she and I and Melissa can meet with the doctors and get some things figured out. Pray for this time to go in the right direction. I see some changes in Melissa's general mood, and I am hoping it is the treatments. She still is not eating much. We did let her have a little dog. What can I say? I like dogs and it is all her responsibility.
  • On September 22 we are having our annual golf marathon.
  • Pray for a successful outing.
  • Please pray for me to understand what to do the days I go to the hospital and they actually give me a patient. I am such a klutz. I stepped on a patient's foot and tried to take a man's blood pressure with a broken instrument while not even noticing he was on the commode. I have a long way to go. In spite of all this I love it.
  • One last thing. Paul ended up with West Nile virus this week.
  • He found out when he gave blood platelets, and they tested the blood. He is excited because they are going to give him a hundred dollars to be in a study group. He has had symptoms that we just wrote off as nothing. He is fine just a little more tired right now. Pray for complete healing and a good immune response.
Have a great week (and remember to talk to your Father all day long).
