Prayer Needs: July 16, 2006 > Week of 7/17/06

From the Desk of Jill Keenon, Operations Director:

A friend of mine told me about a website called, "My Utmost for His Highest" by Oswald Chambers. It has been so refreshing each day. I know a lot of you have probably read his devotion book before but you might want to take a look and hear what this wise man has to say. His ability to focus on Christ is very encouraging and makes you know you can be that close with the Lord. Take a look and be encouraged.

QUICK HOME
Allison is gone for two weeks to take a training in her field of study for Special ED in Virginia. Pray for her to learn all she can and that Will will be fine without her.

KEENON HOME
  • I am thanking the Lord for medicine. I had just started taking my depression medicine again about two weeks ago. On Tuesday I was still very sad and heavy. Literally, at just about eight o'clock that night I felt the depression lift. I was hesitant to say anything for fear it would come back. The next day and since then "I" have been back. Now my family wishes I would get depressed again because I talk so much more when I am myself. I could not believe how dramatic it was. Like I said last week the depression drew me to the Lord and I am grateful for that desire being put in me at a deeper level.
  • Melissa needs concerted prayer this week. We had to take her into the hospital to get an IV for dehydration. She had not eaten for a week and was having trouble even getting her arms and legs to move. Her mom came to Wheaton, from Ohio, to help us with her and that is hard on them both. A lot of emotions are involved but to make it worse one of her first rescued turtles got lost in our yard. We still can not find her and Melissa wants to know why prayer has not found her because I told her I always find things I lose because I pray. I told her this last week when she lost her key and I found it. This turtle is important to her but I know God is in control. Pray for her healing, the turtle and her faith to become a reality.
  • Please pray for McKenzie still. We haven't heard from her in two weeks and the last times she was upset.
  • Bonnie is working on her relationship with the Lord in a real way lately. Thanks for your prayers. Keep it up.
  • Please pray for all the families that have troubled children of all ages. Many are still hurting and may their entire lives. Pray God will heal the hurts of the past in order to heal the problems of today.
  • Pray for healthy families that God will inspire them to influence others through their daily lives and let people know that Jesus is the center of their healthy family. Help us to be more supportive of these healthy families.
