Prayer Needs: May 07, 2006 > For the Week of 5/8/06
From the Desk of Jill Keenon, Operations Director:
I am sorry, but all that is on my mind is viruses and immunology. I have ten days until this semester is over. I could tell you viruses are like Satan and the immune system is us using our weapons for warfare but that would be too corny. So, this week you will have to settle with this: No matter what is going on in our lives whether it is studying, mothering, fathering, serving, or suffering we need to remember our source is Jesus through prayer.
COLOMA PLACE HOME- Once again we were blessed with men and women working on the home to keep it up to par. The amount of work done is always amazing and every one is so nice. We are always grateful to the body of Christ for serving. We are thankful for both the Wheaton Woman's Club and Wheaton Bible Church's Carefest workers.
- Pray for Sue and Carmen as we work on the final details of Sue moving in.
QUICKS HOME- We are still trying to work out if this girl from southern Illinois is going to come or not. Pray for what the Lord wants to be clear.
- Yesterday, I was home cleaning and a knock came at the door and to my surprise stood an old foster daughter and two of her four children. Her husband left her for an older woman and she had no money to pay rent. For those of you who have been praying for years may remember Sarah, the Pakistani girl whose family was trying to kill her because she lived with white, Christian people. So, she will decide by Monday if she and her four children ranging in ate from eight down to 2 years of age will come live with Allison and Will. We would take her in a heart beat. I just love her but we are full. Pray for her. She has been really oppressed in her family and was told to leave the children with her in-laws and come home to marry another richer Pakistani man (in Pakistan).
- Still pray about Allison and Will's baby adoption situation. Nothing is settled yet, but things are moving forward.
- All the dynamics of a home with a family of five, a foster child, and an adoptive child, and several large dogs will be quite a challenge for Will and Allison in the coming months. Also, there will legalities to deal with in such a diverse home. Try to just imagine what the state and city government might say!
KEENON HOME- Melissa finally seems to realize the reality that she could die. She felt like her body was shutting down this week. She is trying to eat but her head makes it hard to do. Pray she can eat slowly and regain her life back. Pray for her to trust the Lord and know how special she is to him. As I have said before she has so much to offer the world but Satan has her fooled in to thinking she is nothing. Pray she can see the truth. We love her and I fear we will lose her.
- Margie's mom and I talked to her and once again we hope she is settled about staying. She still needs a hobby or something she likes to do. She gets lonely and bored.
- Bonnie is trying to make better choices. Pray she can stick to her new thoughts about how to live. Pray for her to get a better job.
- Please pray for the Madison situation. She needs to know the Lord can heal and take care of her. She is very depressed and sees no way out of her situation.
- We celebrated Mother's Day early for my mom and she had a good time. It was nice to honor her. She is a good mom. That is why it is so hard to put her in Arden Courts but I know she will be better off. Her problem thinking is making life harder for her all the time. Regardless of knowing this is the right thing, I am very sad.
- Please pray I can do well on my finals. Thanks.
