We Support Foster Parents
|

|
We care daily for
abused and neglected Teens - both Boys and Girls who are 13-18
years of age (or still in High School), and provide food,
shelter and transportation according to their needs at three different
levels: |
- Crisis Shelter Care
- Days or Weeks of care
- Short Term Care
- Weeks or Months of care
- Long Term Care -
Months to Years of care
|
Our Foster Parents are
Trained and Licensed by:
Open Door for Teens, Inc.
admits Teens from multiple private agencies, and we have three homes:
two for Girls, and one for Boys (see below).
|
Glencoe Street Home
|

The Glencoe Street Home for Girls was ODFT's
First Home and continues to be in vibrant use. Paul and Jill
Keenon are the Foster Parents in charge of the Glencoe St.
Home for girls and, as you probably know by now, are the Founders of Open
Door for Teens, Inc.
|
Morse Street Home
|

In the year 2000, ODFT again purchased,
through the FPSSP, a
new home to house Teen Boys. The Foster Parents living in this home can
care for up to six (6) boys. The Morse St. Home has given ODFT,
Inc.
the capability of housing up to sixteen (16) Teens in need of a stable
environment to grow in and learn to live in the Community.
|
Coloma Street Home
|

In 1995, ODFT,
Inc., through the FPSSP,
purchased and provided the use of a home for a young couple to do
Foster Care. They are able to care for four (4) Teen girls. This doubled
the capacity of Open Door for Teens, Inc. to a
total of ten (10) beds for Teen girls.
For any of the perceived needs listed above,

and we will be happy to set up an appointment with you.

Who Needs a Foster Parent?
Children who are at
the end of their rope
emotionally, physically, and psychologically. Thankfully we have
Someone who understands this need:
"Come to Me,
all you who are weary and burdened, and
I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am
gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest
for your souls." Matthew 11:28-29
It has often been said you can lead a horse to
water but cannot make him drink. That is true.
But you can offer him refreshment and a way to
quench
his thirst. A place of peace and respite does a lot to heal damaged
emotions.
