From the Desk of Jill Keenon, Operations Director:
There is a time for everything
a time to cry and a time to laugh.
There is a time to grieve and a time to dance.
- Ecclesiastes 3
This is what we did this weekend, cried, laughed, grieved and danced. It was a great celebration for Hilly and Owen and our now combined families.
Now it is time to reflect and figure out what is next. I feel a little lost without having to plan study time (graduation was Saturday), wedding planning time, fitting in my home duties and all the business of ODFT. I feel a little strange! It is exciting to see His timing in it all. He is in the details.
How it all came together makes it a great time to give thanks to Him. We saw Jesus in all that was accomplished. Praise Him for caring about all of us humans and our little lives that seem soooooo important. It all needs to be to bring Him glory. I think Hilly's wedding did just that. I pray my nursing career will do just that. I pray our work here with ODFT does just that. For me, I don't want to do anything without Jesus being the key motivator and director. I hope it is the same for you.
QUICK HOME: 1.
Pat has court tomorrow, Tuesday, and he will probably go home. He still does not want to and is starting to revert back to his old self around his mom. Pray for him for the strength to do the right things once he is back home. I am still praying he won't have to go back the courts may see it differently.
2.
The baby's court date is moved to June. So, we are praying the judge will be moved too. It is already in the works but we don't know the exact timing yet. So far this is good because she was supposed to have court tomorrow too. These are difficult and tense times for the Quicks. They are under great pressure of emotions, legal and governmental regulations that vie for control of their family.
3.
Continue to pray for Bob and John as they stay at the house for a while. Help them learn all they can in order to take healthy relationship learning to the next placement.
KEENON HOME: 4.
Melissa did not have seizure during the wedding! She had a great time with her guest and really enjoyed herself for the first time we have ever seen. It was a blessing. Pray she can continue with the longer time in between seizures until they go away. Pray she can get hope from this weekend and keep moving forward in her progress.
5.
Joel is here and could use prayer to keep getting used to managing his diabetes. He looks good, but I know it is still something he has to think about all the time and that takes getting use to.
6. Margie has a new relationship with a boy; it will probably not go anywhere but we would like prayer for her to learn from it.
7. Pray for who should move in next.
8.
Pray for Hillary and Owen as they start their new life. 9. Pray for us to not waste the summer before I get a job, and for us to have a great time of drawing close and wisdom for many things that surround us.
Very important, is that we need to hear from all the people who are coming to the Bowl-A-Thon this coming Saturday. It has been hard for me (Paul) to keep up with the arrangements and getting confirmation on the bowlers. Please pray for a profitable day and a fun day for everyone.
Have a great week.
