From the Desk of Jill Keenon, Operations Director:
I want to be a dog. You trust easy, you forgive easy. You can be playful at a moments notice; you can fight fearlessly at any perceived enemy and not back down. You can eat all you want and just run around the yard and not get fat, sleep any time any where, always love those around you and never tire of the routine.
Life is good as a dog. I don't think I would like to return to my own vomit part, but that is another point some other day. James says to watch your tongue so maybe today I will just give you all a big slobbery dog kiss to thank you for always praying for us. This week try being like a dog to those around you.
QUICKS HOME: 1.
Pat did go in front of the judge two weeks ago and was given a little longer to get some counseling with his mom. He was emotionally shot after that. But, being able to allow the transition to home be a little longer is better. Pray for him. It is still not a healthy environment at home. Usually we hope the kids in our home will learn to obey and be more respectful, but in Pat's situation he needs to know when and how to stand up for himself.
Pray for him to take what he has learned and be able to be himself and not just become enmeshed with his mother's sickness again. 2.
Both Pat and the baby's next court date is May 20. Pray for miracles for both children.
3.
Pray for the two other boys. One is definitely going home in a couple of months and the other may go with a relative but they are looking for a long term foster home too. DCFS has not even asked Allison and Will so that is weird too.
KEENON HOME: 4.
Finally, you can stop praying after five years for my school. I still will ask the week I take my licensing test but you have endured with me, and I am grateful. My last test is Thursday. I am very excited to be done.
5.
Please pray for Hillary's wedding this Saturday. Mainly, for the marriage not the wedding. We keep crying but it is a good thing for her to move away and be on her own. She is an amazing girl, and I know God will make her an amazing woman. Pray they will love Jesus more than anything.
6.
Please pray Melissa will not have a seizure on the wedding day. If she has it on Thursday, it is likely she won't. I know that is a weird request but please pray she will have one on Thursday so we can all relax.
7.
My (Jill's) sister is coming in tonight and will be great to help us organize the wedding. Over the years I have asked you to pray for her salvation. I am so nervous because next Sunday the sermon is going to be on hell (she will honor our wishes that everyone in the house on Sundays goes to church) and I am afraid of the weirdness of the situation.
God knows the timing. She is still one of my favorite people and the kids love it when she is around because I am so happy, but I still worry about her lack of faith, and her reaction to mine. Please pray.
8.
Also, please pray for the Bowl-a-Thon on the 24th. If anyone wants to sponsor me please let me know.
Have a great week,
In Christ's Service for the Community,
