Prayer Needs: Week of 2/18/08 > Week of 2/18/08

From the Desk of Jill Keenon, Operations Director:

I don't have it in me right now to look any harder but the verse that I can't find has to do with a man telling Jesus he believes Jesus could heal him but he needed help with the part of him that could not believe. If our faith comes from God I need him to deliver it right now. I do not see answers to many questions I have had lately. (This is all coming from Jill's thoughts right now. I have no idea what Paul is thinking or feeling about any of this.)

I am tired of feeling guilty about not wanting to do some of what God seems to be asking of me lately, and I am always talking myself out of my feelings. I am frustrated on so many levels that it would be inappropriate to share them all with all of you. Needless to say I need some wise counsel because I have come to the end of what, in the past, seemed to be boundless energy. I do have lots of energy, and I seem to be able to sit less the older I get, but my soul is weary. I am a thankful, half-full kind of person in general. But today I am having trouble not only seeing the half-full glass for which I am very grateful, but I am wondering about the other half.

Why is it staying empty? I want the cup to be filled with Jesus, and all I seem to be getting is a Jill that is getting less like him every day. I am questioning so much and seem to be getting silence from who I thought was my best friend. I am sure I will get through this and be stronger again but I thought since most of you like our honesty, because you all feel most of the things we say, I thought I should get the right kind of praying for this week. Sorry to be a bummer.

COLOMA PLACE:
  1. The sale still looks like it is ready to go. We just need to get a handful of items out of there and it will be done on 29th.
  2. Pray for the board to have wisdom on what to do with the money from the sale of the house. We all want to be wise and use it best for the Lord.
BOYS HOME:
  1. I was sick all weekend so I did not talk to Allison. But I know that the boys are in a tough spot and need prayer for what each of their futures will be. They are at all different stages of processing home but the case workers are very new and are not getting the whole pictures for each boy and the combined picture of a diverse family. All of the boy's cases have been transferred to a local agency from DCFS.
  2. Pray for the boy's protection. Pray for the baby and her protection as well.
KEENON HOME:
  1. Melissa is making progress in counseling but she needs spiritual warfare prayers. Each week at counseling as she enters talking about her pain. She also still seems to be focused on Jill and her relationship (Jill has been learning better boundaries). She needs to make connections in her thinking about cause and effect of her destructive behavior.
  2. Margie is doing well this week. She has a kind heart and helps when ever you ask her and spends a lot of time with Keano. Still pray for her to make friends.
  3. Please pray for protection for Matt. It is so easy to slip into old habits when you feel like you have conquered some demons. He is secretive about some things and we get a funny feeling but can't figure out exactly what it is. Old friends are beginning to pop-up. Pray for us to have wisdom.
  4. Hillary, Margie, and I are going on a woman's retreat this weekend. Pray for safety, rest, healing and refreshment. Pray for Paul as will be watching the Quick boys, for a different reason, Keano, and Melissa. If she has a seizure he can't get her in the tub (gender issue). Everyone who has helped before is going to be gone. Pray for no seizures.
Thanks for caring and listening.
