Prayer Needs: Week of 12/16/07 > Week of 12/16/07

From the Desk of Jill Keenon, Operations Director:

This is a special day for one guy in our home. God is good!

One year ago today Matt was arrested and booked for multiple felonies. In his cell, after waiting over twelve hours to be booked and sent to the DuPage County jail, he fell asleep. He awoke seeing a shadow of a message on the ceiling of that cell. The scripture lead him to think about the God he had long left out of his life. He called out to God that moment saying that he needed help to get out of the life he was leading but could not do it alone.

He told me today that that was the moment he rededicated his life to Christ. God is working in his life, and he has been with us since May and continues to work on his spiritual life as well as the temporal decisions to stay away from tempting situations. He has the help he called for. Praise God! If you need that help from a living God don't hesitate to call on the name of Jesus. He will walk next to you and hold you up through the rough terrain of your life. We all have moments of need. Call on Him in your moment! We are all sinners needing His grace and love. Ask Him to be in you life. He will answer.

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas. When with family and friends during this time remember to count your blessings and tell people the good things and what you love about them for we are not guaranteed tomorrow. We do have some prayer requests.

Sell the Coloma Place House.
New boy called John is now at the Boy's Home (Quicks). After Christmas I will fill you in on more specifics for prayer but for now pray for Pat, John, the baby, the other new boy from a month or so ago and for Allison and Will. They have a full house and they need God's protection and healing on their hearts. Currently Allison is fighting a sinus problem as well.
Pray for Joel in Mexico with his family for Christmas lasting three weeks.
Pray for Margie and her family this Christmas. Pray she will see the blessings she has and not focus on what she does not have. Pray for her to make a good healthy friend.
Pray for Matt to have wisdom when making decisions he is making good strides forward.
Pray for Melissa's healing for her and her family. Pray for the right doctors. She is still having seizures, fighting her eating disorders, cutting, and depression. We believe there is a spiritual component to all of this.
Pray for our family as we need wisdom to handle our daughter, Carmen's emotions and reactions. Pray for her to want the right help and for us to all let her know we love her but that she has to be responsible for herself.
Pray for Christmas week and day for all to know Jesus and to know his love on a daily basis.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! HE IS THE KING!
