Foster Care. Caring for At-Risk Teens and Young Adults

We care daily for abused and neglected Teens and Young Adults. ODFT provide food, shelter and transportation according to their needs at three different levels:

Crisis Shelter Care - Days or Weeks of care
Short Term Care - Weeks or Months of care
Long Term Care - Months to Years of care

Our Foster Parents are Trained and Licensed by:

Open Door for Teens, Inc. admits Teens and Young Adults from multiple private agencies and as private intake. They are housed in two homes owned and maintained by ODFT.

Glencoe Street Home

The Glencoe Street Transitional Home was ODFT's First Home and continues to be in vibrant use. Paul and Jill Keenon are the Foster Parents in charge of the Glencoe St. Home for girls and young adults.

Morse Street Home

In the year 2000, ODFT again purchased, through the FPSSP, a new home to house Teen Boys. The Foster Parents living in this home can care for up to six (6) boys.

Who Needs a Foster Parent?

Children and Young Adults who are at the end of their rope emotionally, physically, and psychologically. Thankfully we have Someone who understands this need:

"Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."
Matthew 11:28-29

It has often been said you can lead a horse to water but cannot make him drink. That is true.

But you can offer him refreshment and a way to quench his thirst. A place of peace and respite does a lot to heal damaged emotions.
